YEARBOOK ART CONTEST

2017 YEARBOOK THEME:

Community Helpers

GUIDELINES:

  • Art work should be original to the student who submits it (no help from big sister, Uncle Jeb who's an artist, Mom or Dad, etc.!)
  • You may get ideas from photographs (books, the internet, etc.), but absolutely no tracing!  We don’t want to get in trouble for violating copyright law!  (You may want to google our theme or look for specific community helper art to get ideas.)
  • Illustrations should be drawn/painted on white paper (no lines!), 8-1/2 x 11.  This can be typing paper, drawing paper, or cardstock.  If your paper is larger than this, please cut it to this size before your child begins his/her drawing.
  • Illustrations and background color should cover the entire page.
  • Black and white illustrations will be considered and chosen only if they are exceptional. Since the yearbook will be in color, we're looking to include additional pops of color.
  • Name of the artist should be ON THE BACK of the illustration.  (Artwork with name on the front will not be considered.)

 DEADLINE:  Wednesday, March 1st

OTHER IMPORTANT INFO:

The first place winner will have his/her art on the cover and will get a free yearbook!

Other exceptional pieces will be incorporated into the book.

Winner will be chosen by a selection committee

composed of grade level and resource teachers.

 NURSE KELLY SAYS...

If your child shows any one or a combination of the following symptoms, please consider that it's flu season!  Students should not be sent to school until they are free of contagious symptoms for 24-hours:

temperature, fatigue, body aches, vomiting

REMINDERS FOR STUDENT DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP

Please be sure to form TWO lines when winding around from the baseball fields to the back of our building in order to drop off or pick up students in the car line. Please refrain from only using the far right lane. If you are concerned about merging before reaching Highway 160, there will be plenty of opportunity to do that before exiting our campus.

Under no circumstances may anyone enter our campus from Highway 160 in order to enter our car line. You MUST enter our car line by accessing it from Bent Tree Drive. If you need further assistance with this, please contact Mrs. Guthrie at the school office.

Please do not allow your children to exit vehicles in the mornings unless your vehicle has reached the green dumpster.

Parents, please do not exit your vehicles to retrieve your children during afternoon pick-up unless your vehicle has reached the awning/breezeway near the gym.

Thank you for your help in making traffic run as smoothly as possible!

ATTENTION PARENTS:

Please remember that students may have one lunch visitor per week.  Thanks for your cooperation!
